DRIVE SMART Evergreen/Conifer Overview:

DSEC is a 501 ( c ) 3 nonprofit whose mission is to develop partnerships with schools, businesses, civic, community and governmental organizations to educate, create awareness and improve attitudes concerning safe and courteous driving in our mountain communities, resulting in the reduction of traffic related injuries and fatalities. This chapter was established in 1993 using CDOT funding through Drive Smart Colorado. Since then, DSEC has achieved sustainability and received national, state and local recognition for its work.

The organization is led by a volunteer Board of Directors from varied relevant backgrounds and experienced staff. The Executive Director has successfully implemented our programs for over four years and has the community and Board's support in enhancing and expanding DSEC's services. Furthermore, the Board of Directors consists of a cadre of dedicated volunteers including DSEC founding members, local business owners, a deputy sheriff, and a public health nurse, all of whom bring valuable education and experience to the table.

An established website, office location, and accounting system further enhances our ability to efficiently and effectively serve our community at minimal cost. The majority of our budget comes from community members who provide sponsorships and participate in fund-raising events.
